Highlighting some of the projects we are supporting this year.

Each year, we are incredibly blessed to financially support over 35 different projects in Bible Societies across the world, many of which, you might not hear much about. We wanted to highlight 5 of the projects we are supporting in 2025 that you may not know much about. We have been supporting each of these projects for several years. Please hold each of these projects in your prayers throughout 2025.

Guatemala – Free to Live

In Guatemala, 33 people are trafficked daily, with over 83% of the 50,000 victims being children, enduring lasting harm and human rights violations. “Free to Live” brings hope to girls and teens affected by sex trafficking
and abuse, offering weekly Scripture-based sessions for healing. This project aims to restore dignity, helping victims find purpose and resilience through the healing
message of Jesus Christ.

Uruguay – Breakfast with Jesus

Launched in 2022 after COVID-19’s severe impact, this project supports Uruguay’s most impoverished children, who often survive on one meal daily. Partnering with
local churches, the Bible Society provides Bible School classes for children aged 3–12, offering nutritious breakfasts or snacks alongside age-appropriate Bibles and books on Jesus’ life. This support targets children already struggling with poverty and school dropouts due to challenging social conditions.

Portugal – Almeida Translation

The “Almeida Revista e Corrigida” Translation is the most loved Portuguese translation, but the last big revision was in 1898! It’s still the most wanted translation in Portugal, Angola and Mozambique but many Bible Institute and church pastors have been complaining about some issues that the translation has and the need to update it so the new generation will have this classic translation in an easy-to-read version.

Kenya – Bibles for Marginalised Children & Young People

This project aims to provide Bibles to disadvantaged children in Kenya, fostering Bible reading and Biblical values. In Kenyan schools, Bibles are key resources for Christian Religious Education and weekly pastoral sessions, but 98% of public primary schools lack them. Many families can’t afford Bibles, especially amid rising unemployment and food insecurity. Supplying Scriptures will support spiritual growth and build a values-based foundation for Kenyan society.

Pakistan – Beacon in the Darkness of Illiteracy

Pakistan’s literacy rate is low, especially among Christian women in villages and slums, many of whom live in generational poverty and lack access to church. The “Beacon in the Darkness of Illiteracy” project aims to empower 3,000 women in 2025, helping them gain literacy skills, escape poverty, and read the Bible. Since 2014, the project has impacted nearly 290,000 people, with hopes to double this in the next five years.
