On Friday, 22nd November, supporters gathered once more at the T3 Conference Centre, House of Vic-Ryn. The event was a wonderful opportunity to reconnect with familiar faces and warmly welcome new ones. A special thanks goes to Heather G, Heather S, and Evangeline for volunteering to serve refreshments.

Wilson began the evening by sharing how the Bible has profoundly impacted his family’s life. He emphasised its transformative power before praying as we moved into worship, led by Mark. Wilson also provided an update on recent months and future aspirations for the Society. He reflected on the inspirational stories from colleagues across the fellowship and reminded us of our mission to reach everyone with God’s Word.

Elaine Duncan, CEO of the Scottish Bible Society and Chair of the UBS Fellowship Council, was the evening’s guest speaker. She highlighted the global impact of Bible Society NI and drew attention to key events like the 2023 World Assembly and the 2024 Canada Fellowship Event. Elaine shared her insight into the diversity of the global fellowship and the challenges that so many Bible Societies face, especially in conflict zones. She highlighted the Ukrainian Bible Society’s increased demand for Scripture amidst the war and spoke of Deputy General Secretary Anatoliy’s dual role as a military chaplain, providing crucial spiritual support in a time of great need.

Colin Taylor, acting Chair of the Board, expressed gratitude for Elaine’s contributions and our ongoing partnership with the Scottish Bible Society, sharing resources and staff experience as needed. An act of commissioning for Wilson followed, as Board members, Elaine, Campbell, and former General Secretaries – John Doherty & Catherine Hillcox – prayed for his leadership. Elaine presented Wilson with a Bible to commemorate this milestone.

Mark then introduced The Confidence Podcast, a new resource launching in Spring 2025. This was followed by an interview with Trustee Howard Davey, who shared his motivation for joining the Board. The evening concluded with prayers for some of the projects Bible Society NI are supporting in 2025.

The Gathering was a heartfelt reminder of the Society’s shared mission and the power of Scripture to inspire and unite us.
