This project is a Scripture-based trauma healing programme which helps people who have been traumatised by physical, psychological or sexual abuse. The Ceylon Bible Society runs this project in partnership with local churches, theological colleges and organisations. They run workshops to help train leaders in trauma healing so that they can go on to lead courses themselves.
It is important that the Christian church is seen to be a place of healing and restoration for those who have been victims of abuse. Through these courses they are taught the love of God and about their value in Christ.
In 2021, there is also a special focus on healing from the distress caused by the COVID-19 global pandemic. Many people have been negatively impacted through their health, their finances or their mental health. Part of this course in 2021 is to help people to recover from the effects of COVID-19.
