In last year’s Autumn W@W magazine we mentioned that we had been helping fund the Lithuanian Bible Society’s project to produce a New Testament in sign language. Little did we know that it was soon to have an impact on someone living right here in Northern Ireland.

One of our local supporters has been helping a Lithuanian student to learn British Sign Language. When she read about the New Testament in Lithuanian Sign Language, she contacted us to ask for a link to the website where it could be accessed. When she shared this link with her Lithuanian friend he was absolutely fascinated as he is no longer in contact with anyone who speaks to him in Lithuanian Sign Language.

We thought we were having an impact on people living in Lithuania and here we were touching someone on our own doorstep too. We are so thankful to everyone who has given towards this project, especially the Irish Methodist World Mission Partnership.
